• Paul Walker joins Consumer Intelligence from global data giant Nielsen
  • The appointment forms part of the data expert’s increased focus on client experience

Consumer Intelligence, acclaimed independent insight business for financial services, has announced the hiring of seasoned data and information executive Paul Walker as Chief Commercial Officer. Walker will lead the client-facing arm of the business - including client servicing and partnerships, marketing and product development - and will be responsible for optimising the end-to-end client experience to support the growth of the business.

Ian Hughes, CEO of Consumer Intelligence, says: “This is an exciting appointment for us at Consumer Intelligence. Paul brings a deep understanding of the power of data. His know-how and expertise will enable us to further help our clients maximise their return on their investment, not only helping them survive in this current climate, but thrive.

“For nearly two decades, our clients have been able to use our insights and knowledge to make confident decisions, seen the world through the unique lens of consumers. With Paul joining us we will be able to further our commitment to our clients and to living our mantra of customer-centricity.

“Paul joins us at a crucial time in financial services; a time of uncertainty for the sector. Our insights are being used more than ever to enable confident decision making within the organisations of the brands we work with. The role of Chief Commercial Officer is pivotal to helping our clients win in these challenging times.”

Walker brings with him 26 years’ experience working for global market research, insights and data company Nielsen. He has held senior leadership roles across the world, most recently as Nielsen’s managing director for UK & Ireland.

Paul Walker says: “I am delighted to join Consumer Intelligence as Chief Commercial Officer. I am particularly excited to join at a time where the need for insight and data that delivers a return is essential to the sector. As part of the team, my role will focus on building Consumer Intelligence’s growth by leading our client-facing teams as we continue to build confidence in financial services.

“My years spent helping clients grow, as a result of understanding their objectives and applying insight in meaningful ways, will enable me to translate this to a brand-new industry, one where data driven decisions continue to be mission critical and measurable.”

Consumer Intelligence clients include most of the UK’s biggest insurers as well as brokers, aggregators, data agencies and financial institutions. Governments and regulators, including the FCA, publish and rely upon Consumer data to help manage the market and the economy.
