Consumers are missing out on important protections and legal rights by choosing not to pay with a credit card when travelling or buying online.
Purchasing with a credit card gives consumers extra rights under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act for any purchase over £100 and less than £30,000.
Despite this extra protection being in place only 36% or just over 1 in 3 consumers would use a credit card to pay for goods costing £120 according to research by Consumer Intelligence for European Money Week.
The same consumer protection is not available to thosethat purchase through a Debit Card or the 5% that would prefer to use cash.
