In a time where more customers are becoming more vulnerable, being recommended helps brands stand out, as it shows they are willing to put their customers first. 

Have you ever been persuaded by a review you have read online? Whether trying out a place to eat or treating yourself to something new, almost everyone has used online reviews to judge something being sold to us. This means that being highly recommended is vital; people may be more willing to listen to real customer experiences than the companies themselves. 

Since external factors such as the Cost of Living and Inflation are all affecting where customers are willing to spend their money, having positive reviews from existing customers will help guide others to trust your brand and make them more willing to spend their money on your brand. 

By using our Insurance Behaviour Tracker (IBT), we are able to gain insight into how consumers feel about their insurance provider. Each year we survey over 48,000 home and motor insurance customers to uncover the top performing brands within the market. It is this data that our analysts use to calculate exactly which brands have been most highly recommended by real customers.  That is why our Recommended Award is something brands should take pride in, as it is based on real customer feedback.

Karen Houseago, head of insurance, highlights the importance of delivering products and services that are tailored to meet the needs of customers. Winning the 'highly recommended' award is a testament to the efforts that insurers have made to keep their customers' best interests at the forefront. 

Houseago explains, "Insurance is a highly regulated industry, with strict rules and regulations in place to protect consumers and ensure that insurers operate in a fair and ethical way.  Winning the ‘highly recommended’ award sends a powerful message to consumers that the insurer is not only trustworthy and reliable but also operating in a compliant and ethical manner.

Our research shows that when shopping for insurance, consumers are over five times more likely to choose a company which has an award based on real customer feedback, as opposed to a company which has won an award based on the opinions of industry experts. That is why the Consumer Intelligence Awards are set apart from other industry awards.
